Community Care

 The Centre for Child Development

As a long time Realtor in this area, I am very aware of the influence that myself and the other Realtors that I am associated with, can and have made on this community, not only in terms of real estate, but also in terms of community service.

On a personal level, I am directly involved  with the ' Walk, Run, and Roll for our Kids' event  held annually at Bear Creek Park by 'The Center for Child Developement' (http://www.centreforchilddevelopment.ca/home.htm).  I feel that the Center, which is located at 9460 140th Street in Surrey, is a very important local organization, which for the past 50 years has been providing much needed services for local children with special needs.

 Remax "Community Care" 

On a corporate level, Remax has set up the 'Community Care' program (http://www.remax-western.ca/community-care) . This program supports a number of organizations including,  THe Childrens Miracle Network, Quest for Excellence, Organ Donor Awareness,and the Yard Sale for the Cure.

At the local level, The Fraser Valley, Vancouver and Chilliwack Real, Estate Boards have set up a number of  community service programs. These programs include an annual  Blanket Drive (www.blanketdrive.ca) which in 2008 resulted in the collection of over 4000 bags of blankets and clothing for those in need.  Realty Watch  (http://www.realtywatch.net)   is a community crime prevention program which uses the extra eyes and ears  of local Realtors. The mission of this organization is to reduce and  prevent crime by assisting police in time critical situations- usually lost or abducted people. It is 24/7 service."
